To lose 20 pounds in 32 days.

It’s October 27th, in 32 days it will be November 27th, aka my birthday. Another year will have passed and I’m still in all my same old ruts, even though I’ve promised myself I’d get out of them.

It’s so easy to drift along in habits that are formed. They sneak up on you. One day you're out there doing stuff. Exercising on a regular basis. Eating regular meals. Doing things.

Then wham! A life altering incident occurs. All that regularity is blown to HELL!

My dad's accident was that incident. For six years everything revolved around him. Hospital stays, rehab stays. Home care which was a joke and fell mostly on us kid’s heads. He at least was home till the very end.

It affected change in all our lives though. Regular meals went out the window by the end. Exercise was nonexistent.

He’s been gone for six years, and the patterns still remain. Because, OH wait, there was my mother to content with after. So, the pattern remained.

She’s been gone for coming up on three years. Habits good or bad are hard to break.

Today is the first day. What do I want to do. Sit on the couch and read!!

Time to take a walk outside. It’s windy and chilly. Race will be on at 2:30.

Butt in gear time.

The leaves are basically gone now, but this will be my walking view.
