So last night went to turn the music on while we were making dinner. The CD player didn’t work. Just kept making a bad noise and finally gave an error message. I played with it a bit as the water was boiling for the pasta. (Shrimp Alfredo, garlic bread and frozen margaritas.) Any way the CD deck wouldn’t open. We finally found the owner's manual but of course it didn’t tell you how to open the deck with no power. Took me a half hour of searching the internet before I found a site that actually had the repair manual. Sony site was useless. All they said was unplug from the power wait a min then plug back in. (tried that last night.) Did not work! Looks like it’s time for a new one. (We actually have one that was mom’s that I was going to list on Ebay but think it’s going to be ours, will put money in the Ebay kitty jar though)
Race is on. Chase is running in the top 5 so far. Bell is back in the pack, running 19. Not sure how Chase started in 4th, G said that his car didn’t pass inspection 3 times, that usually means they start at the back of the pack. Wallace is leading….yuck. Still early in the race though.
Beautiful day in the neighborhood! Mid 70’s, slight breeze and no humidity! Finally.
W stopped so G could give him the check to make up the difference in the amount we were paid for the house. M really needs to get he shit together so that I can pay him his part. I really don’t want to have the money but he’s not feeling real good about opening a savings account to put it in. Will see how that pans out.
So far I’ve put some in my brockage account and opened a 13-month CD that is paying 4.50% interest. I probably should have put more in the CD but I didn’t want to hold up too much of it. It will come to term before I have to return the Bronco. Not sure what I’m going to do next Oct. Buy or lease again. I’m probably going to go the buy route as I’m looking at the time I want to stop working. Time to get my ducks all in a row.
Got my statement from SS and I’m thinking I may get done at 65. Will see how it goes. Really wish that my option plays would pay off. I can pretty much guarantee that the ones that I always choose to play do the opposite of what they are supposed too. They say they are going up…I buy they go down. They say they are going to go down; I buy they go up! I can’t win. But they do say the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting different results, that’s me to a T!
As usual there was nothing on tv last night. So we searched for a movie and found nothing. I really need to go on the computer and make a list of ones that I want to watch. That way we would have a destination instead of searching aimlessly. So we finally settled on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It was pretty good. We watched the first two episodes. Now we have something to fall back on if there is nothing on regular tv, we’ll be watching it a lot!
W also updated us on the deconstruction of all the buildings in the village. House is basically down. Guess there was still some stuff that they needed to remove, and they still have to get the road back to field. Someone stole six of the windows that were being stored at the ski area. Not sure what they are going to do with them. Not sure then try to sell them right now. Maybe in a couple of years. I guess from what W said the guy who took the lamp post returned it. Nothing on the statue. People are crazy. The first one wasn’t really that great a movie. Who knew it would become a cult classic. No security any more now that the house is down. People will still come though. W said that they were going to use some of the money AP got paid for use of the land to put up a gate. People have no boundaries in regard to other people's property. Wonder when they will get to release the movie since the writers and actors are all on Stike! Reruns here we come.
G and Marty are outside. Marty is chasing grasshoppers. He’s a dope.
Time to think about dinner.
