Crouched at the edge of the lawn, I scanned looking for a tasty tidbit for a snack. My head swiveled right and left. My nose twitched, my ears rotated. I had to stay ever vigilant, one never knew when a predator would show. I’d lost a cousin last week to a fox.

My eyes spied a bright yellow spot in the middle of the lawn. Did I dare? I scanned the sky, the lawn, the trees in the distance.
